Christmas is a joyous time of the year for most people, and the Oklahoma based Route 66 dealership showed their spirit with a Christmas text message marketing campaign. The Route 66 Mobile Club was already established, however, the brand took things one step further and offered great incentives to those who were subscribed to their messages. The 12 days prior to Christmas, the brand started offering a 20% discount to customers each day. This promotion lead to an increase in sales at a time that sales are generally slow. This campaign also helped the brand to increase their campaign marketing list.
Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps
Another campaign worth talking about is that of the British comedy Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. This campaign enabled viewers to make an impact on the storyline. Viewers were asked to choose which character should live or die, with the results documented after the end of the fifth season of the show. Consumers were engaged and ready to see what happened next on the series.
Leeds United Matches
Leeds University football team conducted a campaign that enabled fans to vote for their favorites during matches using text marketing. Fans were told to send the code LEEDS to a shortcode, which entered them into a drawing to win an autographed t-shirt. The text messages were charged to the customer, but much of the money raised was donated to the Leeds United Foundation.
