What Does SMS Stand For?

Found in: SlickText Basics

SMS stands for Short Message Service. SMS can be used to send text messages that contain up to 160 characters per message. SMS does not include data or pictures, just text. Text can include the letters, numbers, and symbols found on any basic cellular device.

Unlike it's counterpart, MMS (Multimedia Message Service) allows for picture messages and up to 1600 characters. The Message Service type you will use can vary from one campaign to the next. SMS is available for any plan size in SlickText. MMS is available for paid plans only.
