How do I extend my character limit to 160 characters on my outgoing text messages?

Pre-pending Textword Setting Turned On

To get the maximum character length on your outgoing text messages you will want to make sure your "prepending" textword is shut off. This removes your textword from the beginning of your outgoing messages. If this option is turned on, then it takes up characters in your messages.

To shut off your prepending textword go to, Textwords then on the right side of the textword you want to adjust click Options then Settings. On the next page click on the option that says Text Messages. Then slide the button to No and click Save Settings. You will now have a full 160 characters in your outgoing messages.

Extended Message Length Turned Off

If you did not know, you do have the ability to request extended message length. This would allow you to send a SMS message up to 960 characters long. Just remember that every 160 characters counts as 1 SMS used. To request Extended Message Length be turned on, please email info@slicktext.com

Send a MMS (Picture Message)

When you attach a photo you will notice that your message length jumps to 1600 available characters. This is because it converts from an SMS (Short Message Service) to MMS (Multi Media Message). Remember, for every MMS you send out it will deduct more that 1 message per MMS per subscirber. MMS messages are much more expensive to send then standard SMS messages. Keep this in mind.
