You’re ready to compose your first SMS marketing campaign. You have one heck of an offer, and want to make sure redemption numbers go through the roof. You’re all about making the most of your marketing efforts.
You’re super gung-ho on getting your text message into the hands of eager subscribers, but oddly enough, you don’t know how to start.
“Hey!” just seems a bit too casual. At the same time, jumping right into the offer might make your message sound a bit spammy. For example, let’s say you opened a text that started with “20% OFF!!” Your subscribers might not finish reading the rest of that text, as it screams unqualified.
So, with that said … what’s the first step in campaign composition?
Introduce yourself. State your business name. Make sure subscribers know who this message is coming from. This will eliminate a ton of confusion, and make sure your message is being read by the right viewers.
Here’s a great example. Let’s say your own a rib joint called Meat on the Bones. You want to fire out a buy one rack, get one free promo. Here is a great sample text message.
Meat on the Bones is ready to rock out Rib Wednesday in style! Show this text for a free rack of ribs with any full rack purchase.
Do you have to blatantly state your business name? Absolutely not. Find a crafty way to work it into the message, similar to the example above.
Doing so will help the recipient immediately know who the message is from, which then means they can continue reading on to claim the offer.
