If you’ve ever written a business plan, you might know what a SWOT analysis is.

  • Strengths
  • Weaknesses
  • Opportunities
  • Threats

When starting up or evaluating a business it’s extremely important to identify characteristics in all four of these categories. From there, one of your biggest goals should be to decrease the weaknesses and threats by turning them into strengths and opportunities. This helps your business to create competitive advantages over your competition.

The traditional world of marketing and advertising that revolves around newspapers, billboards, TV & radio isn’t a threat to companies like SlickText and it’s clients that are on board with text message marketing at all. Let’s take a step back and think about it.

With the amount of “marketing pollution” out there today, our brains are forced to filter out the 3,000 ads we’re exposed to on a daily basis. All of which are trying to interrupt us so that we might take a second to listen to what they have to say. It’s a pretty solid brick wall and it’s why we are seeing more edgy and provocative ads in this day and age. Text marketing takes that disadvantage and turns it into an opportunity by allowing the customer to volunteer to hear what your business has to say. You can reach your customers instantly and MUCH more effectively. So while your competition’s word is busy bouncing off that brick wall, you’re customers will be digging you a tunnel to crawl under and listen up!
